Hair Fiber Question and Answer

Is Toppik Noticeable in Bright Sunlight?

The Short Answer: No, provided you are using authentic Toppik fibers and have the correct color match. Toppik is made of organic Wool Keratin, which has a matte finish that absorbs light exactly like human hair. Cheap counterfeit fibers are often made of synthetic rayon or nylon, which can reflect sunlight and create an unnatural "shimmer" or glittery effect outdoors.

Passing the "Sunlight Test"

Indoor lighting is forgiving, but direct sunlight reveals everything. The key to invisibility is texture.

  • Real Hair: Has a textured, slightly matte surface (scales).
  • Toppik Fibers: Mimic this texture, blending seamlessly.
  • Synthetic Fakes: Have smooth, plastic surfaces that bounce light, making the scalp look painted or shiny.

Color Safety: Another risk with sunlight is "oxidizing." Cheap dyes in fake fibers can turn green or purple under UV rays. Authentic Toppik fibers are color-locked and resistant to UV color shifting.

Common Visibility Questions

What if my scalp shines through?

If you have a very shiny, oily scalp, it can contrast with the matte fibers. We recommend washing your hair or using a dry shampoo before applying fibers to mattify the scalp skin for a better blend.

Is the spray noticeable?

Only if you use too much. FiberHold Spray adds a natural luster, but if you soak the area, it can look crusty. Use short, light bursts from 6 inches away.
