Yes, a little transfer is possible. Keratherapy Fiber Hair Thickener can transfer to clothing, pillows, and other surfaces, especially if not applied correctly or set with hairspray. The fibers are designed to cling to hair, but friction from contact can cause them to rub off.
However, there are ways to minimize or prevent this transfer.
To prevent transfer:
Finish with hairspray. Applying a light mist of hairspray after the fibers are in place is highly recommended. This locks the fibers to the hair and significantly reduces the chance of them rubbing off on fabrics.
Let the product dry completely. After spraying the fibers, allow them to set and dry for 2–3 minutes before touching your hair or getting dressed.
Avoid touching the treated area. Once applied, try not to touch your hair in the areas where the fibers have been sprayed. Rubbing or scratching your head can dislodge the fibers.
Wash before bed. For the most security, it is best to wash your hair before going to bed to completely remove the product. This also helps maintain scalp health and avoids potential buildup.
Dust off any stray fibers. If any fibers get on your clothes during application, they can typically be dusted off easily, as they don't permanently stain fabrics.
