Hair Fiber Question and Answer

Does Wind Blow Hair Fibers Off?

The Short Answer: No. Toppik Hair Building Fibers are not loose dust; they are magnetically charged keratin proteins. This innate static charge creates a magnetic attraction to your existing hair, allowing the fibers to withstand winds of up to 40-50 mph (gale force) without detaching, provided they are applied correctly.

Why They Stay Put

Think of a balloon rubbed on a sweater—it sticks against gravity. Toppik works the same way.

  • Without Spray: Holds in breezes and normal movement.
  • With FiberHold Spray: The bond is reinforced, locking the fibers to the hair shaft even in strong Canadian gusts or convertible car rides.

Application Tip: After applying fibers, gently pat your hair with your palm. This physical action strengthens the magnetic bond between the fiber and the hair strand. If you skip the "pat," the fibers sit loosely on top and are more likely to drift.

Common Weather Questions

What about rain AND wind?

This is the hardest condition. While wind alone is fine, and light rain is fine, driving rain combined with wind can disrupt the style. We recommend a hood or umbrella in severe storms to protect the style.

Will it blow onto my clothes?

During application, some excess fibers may fall. But once settled and patted down, they will not randomly fall off during the day. If you see fibers on your shoulders, it usually means you applied too much product without sealing it.
