Hair Health Question and Answer

Do Laser Hair Growth Caps Actually Work?

The Short Answer: Yes. Laser hair caps use a technology called Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), which is FDA-cleared and clinically proven to treat androgenetic alopecia. The laser light (at 650nm wavelength) penetrates the scalp to stimulate cellular respiration, increasing ATP energy production in the follicle. This extends the growth phase and thickens existing hair.

It's Not Magic, It's Science

Think of LLLT like photosynthesis for your hair. Just as plants convert sunlight into energy, your hair follicles convert laser light into cellular fuel.

  • Wakes Up Dormant Hair: It pushes follicles from the "Resting" (Telogen) phase back into "Growth" (Anagen).
  • Increases Diameter: It reverses miniaturization, making fine, wispy hairs grow back thicker and darker.

Authorized Technology: Effectiveness depends on the quality of the laser. At Hair Solutions Canada, we stock only FDA-cleared devices like Capillus and Theradome, which use medical-grade laser diodes (not cheap LEDs) for maximum penetration.

Common Laser Questions

Does it work on a bald head?

No. LLLT requires a living follicle to work. It cannot grow hair on "shiny" bald skin where the follicle has died. It is most effective for thinning hair or receding hairlines.

How long until I see results?

It is a long-term treatment. You will typically see a decrease in shedding by month 3, and visible thickening/regrowth between months 6 and 12 with consistent use.
