How Toppik Works on Hazel’s Genetic Hair Loss

How Toppik Works on Hazel’s Genetic Hair Loss

While hair loss is typically considered to be a problem that affects men, 40% of Americans who experience hair loss are actually women. That’s 30 million women in the United States alone! Female pattern hair loss, also known as androgenic hair loss is the most common type of genetic hair loss and unfortunately is not preventable.

People with androgenic hair loss have hair follicles that are sensitive to the hormone dihydrotestosterone or DHT. DHT causes hair follicles to shrink in size, eventually leading to hair loss. In women, androgenic hair loss usually results in a widening part and scalp show-through.  Female pattern hair loss can be treated with some over-the-counter medications like Propecia and Rogaine, or hidden with the help of hair extensions or clever hair styling techniques. But as Hazel found out, the easiest way to disguise female pattern hair loss is by using Toppik Hair Building Fibers.

Hazel’s Story

Growing up, Hazel’s mother and grandmother both suffered from female pattern hair loss. Hazel didn’t know that she also had the issue until around ten years ago, when a coworker asked her about it. “He kind of pulled me to the side, like, are you sick?” she recalls. Because her hair loss was in the back of her head where she couldn’t typically see with a mirror, she was unaware she was losing her hair.

Hazel became increasingly insecure about her hair loss. “It just made me feel like I’m constantly thinking about what someone behind me is thinking of when they see the back of my head,” she says. Hazel’s family members dealt with their hair loss by combing over thin sections and spraying hair into place with copious amounts of hairspray. Hazel knew that this type of styling wasn’t for her. “I don’t want to do that. It’s so high maintenance…I’m such a low maintenance kind of person.”

Hazel’s Experience Using Toppik Hair Building Fibers

Hazel describes the first time she used Toppik Hair Building Fibers as magical. “Here’s this powdery stuff that matches your hair color. You kind of just shake it around in the parts that your scalp needs it, and then boom. And then it looks like you have a full head of hair.”

Now she uses Hair Building Fibers almost every day. Hazel usually applies Hair Building Fibers using the sifter top.

“I shake the Hair Fibers at the top of my hair, then the back area that I can’t see and then that’s it… It fills in my hair so fast!”

As an actress, using Hair Building Fibers helps Hazel to feel more confident. “When I go into an audition room I have one less thing to be insecure about,” she says. She’s also glad that she no longer has to worry about people thinking she’s sick.

Hair Building Fibers are better than surgery or extensions, Hazel says, because “it’s just a couple of shakes at the areas that you need it in your hair, and then you can go out the door and not have to think about it.” She loves how easy and inexpensive the product is. “You don’t have to break the bank just to feel a little bit more confident in yourself and not have to have all those insecurities.”

Hazel Recommends Hair Building Fibers

Now Hazel can’t stop telling people about using Hair Building Fibers. “I am such a believer in the product that I have to tell people it’s in my hair, just because I want everyone to know, this is such amazing stuff, you don’t even realize that my hair is thin,” she says.

Hazel also shared Toppik with her relatives who had female pattern hair loss. “For them to use these microfibers that match your hair color that can cover any of those thinning areas of your scalp, yeah…They love it.”

For Hazel, Toppik Hair Building Fibers have changed her life. She recommends them to any woman suffering from androgenic hair loss. “Anybody who has issues like I do, don’t hesitate to use it,” she says.

I have been using Toppik for years but I have my hair getting thinner. I am just wondering if it chokes out the scalps ability to grow hair. Please check it out for me.
Thank you
