How Long Do Toppik Hair Fibers Last?

How Long Do Toppik Hair Fibers Last?

However, we get a lot of questions about how long fibers last, so we asked these Toppik users to share their experiences with us. Keep reading to find out how Hair Fibers hold up in different everyday situations.

Umbrella

Q: Do Fibers Last Through Weather Like Wind and Rain?

A: Wind is no match for Toppik Hair Building Fibers! Thanks to the famous Santa Ana winds, Southern California is notoriously windy in the winter. But Toppik user Thom hasn’t had any issue! “I’ve been in pretty strong winds…It doesn’t seem to affect it,” he told the Toppik team.

Same goes for rain! Toppik Hair Building Fibers are resistant to precipitation. “I’ve been in wind, in rain.  Nothing is moved. It stays in your hair,” said Toppik user Linda.

Steve Q. agreed. “I got caught in the rain a week or so ago, and it did not affect it whatsoever. It stayed natural looking and I was very pleased and surprised with the results,” said Steve.

Stretching in Bed

Q: Do Fibers Last Overnight?

A: No time to apply Hair Building Fibers in the morning? Not a problem. Toppik Hair Building Fibers will stay in hair overnight with only a minimal need for touch-ups in the morning.“If I use it today, and I don’t wash my hair until two days later, it stays in.” said Thom. He also added, “Normally, whatever I have in stays from shower to shower to shower.”

Toppik user Belle told us, “I was surprised when I woke up the next day that I still had hair.”

“Because unless you wash your hair everyday, it will totally stay in, which is, I still don’t understand that,” Adam agreed.

Sleeping on Pillow

Q: Will Fibers Get On My Pillows?

A: If you plan to wear Hair Building Fibers overnight, will they get on your pillows? That hasn’t been the experience for these Toppik users, who were able to sleep with Hair Building Fibers without getting them on their bedding.

“I was trying to think about would it be a problem if Toppik stayed in overnight and would it get everywhere?  And I slept with it fully in my hair. Nothing on the pillow,” said Bobak.

Adam told us, “I went to the bed and I checked the pillow, there was nothing on the pillow.”

Watching TV

Q: Will Fibers Get on My Clothes?

A: Many people are concerned that Hair Building Fibers are messy, and will fall onto your face and clothing during application and throughout the day. Not so! These Toppik users haven’t had any issues with getting Hair Building Fibers on their clothes.

“It doesn’t come out on your clothes, it doesn’t come on on your pillow, it stays in until you wash your hair,” Adriana told us.

Belle agreed. “And it doesn’t get all over your face. It doesn’t get on your clothes. It’s not on my pillows,” she said.

Sweat

Q: What If I Sweat?

A: Another commonly asked question about Hair Building Fibers is whether or not they will sweat out during exercise. These Toppik users have worn Hair Building Fibers through all sorts of exercise, and haven’t had any issues.

Bobak told us, “I always thought that because I’m a big sweater that Toppik might come out running down my face, but never [that’s] the issue.  I always even touch my sweat and it’s just water. It’s not like dark or it’s not colored or anything. No problems at all.”

Diane had a similar experience when she went line dancing with her husband. “…I had my cowboy hat on. I was sweating. I took my cowboy hat off. And my Toppik was still in place. And my hair looked marvelous.”

Keilen-Before-Toppik

Keilan-After-Toppik

A frequent exerciser, Keilan was worried that Toppik wouldn’t last through his workout.  “I was thinking if I worked out, would it bleed or would Toppiks run after a while or if I blot my face with my towel…I can go into the gym confidently without a hat and without worrying about going in there with a full head of hair and coming out with balding spots,” he said.

I have to disagree with the fibers not getting on the pillow. I use this and love it, (Black Color) but to be honest it always leaves black fibers all over my pillow and anywhere that I have to lay down at. When I go to the dentist, or get my eyebrows waxed I always make sure I don’t have the fiber in as it will leave an embarrassing mark on the white paper/pillow …When I apply it, I have to put a towel around my shoulders otherwise I have the fiber all over my shoulders, and the tops of my ears and sometimes on the sides of my face so I have to make sure to wipe all that off before I leave the house. Not to mention my bathroom tiles, the grout is all black..door knobs, cupboards, etc. so even though I use this product because it does cover the fine areas and I love it, it is extremely messy on everything! Maybe I am doing something wrong?…if so please let me know because I would love to know as well as be confident enough to use this product and not worry about leaving a mess in my bathroom, my face, ears, clothes, other peoples pillows or while getting a wax, dentist etc… AND my worst nightmare is someone touching my hair..and there hand is black!! I know if I itch my head my fingers are black which totally sucks….any advise would be awesome!

There are very different opinions expressed here, and I suspect everyone is correct in their own experience. To me, it’s all about how much you use and how much you need. For me, the only way Toppik comes out of my hair is with shampoo. It does not come out if I touch my hair, when I exercise hard (and sweat profusely), in the rain, the wind, even if I just rinse my hair in the shower with water. I usually wash it out before bed, but when I don’t it doesn’t come out on my pillow either. Unless I scape my scalp with my fingernail, it doesn’t come out unless I use shampoo, period. I have even had my hair cut with Toppik in. My hairdresser, who I have been going to for a very long time and know well (and who would not hesitate to mention it to me) has not said a thing.

Now some caveats. I don’t use a lot. Probably 6-10 light shakes on the crown of my head. I brush it into my hair so it gets worked in and isn’t sitting on the top. I also use the Toppik hairspray (any brand seems to work fine too) which is important. Without the hairspray, it doesn’t stay nearly as well. I suspect that the more you (need to) use the more likely it is you will have some “leakage”. If you need so much that there is a “layer” on your head, you aren’t going to get great results, at least in terms of hold. If you use it sparingly, brush it in and apply hairspray, it works very well. If you are reading this and are on the fence I encourage you to try. I was skeptical ate first and just ordered the small sample size to try it out. I’m glad I did and have been \very happy with the results.

I’m a true believer. I’m a fitness instructor & I used to do crazy stuff before discovering Toppik. The secret to the fibres staying put is…hairspray!!! Trust me, I have not experienced an embarrassing moment.

These claims are false. Ends up all over your pillow every night. Comes off if you scratch your head. Heavy wind will blow it out. You always have to brush off your clothes after applying. These claims are simply not true.
